New profile picture shows me with the portrait of my Great uncle by Clive barker in the background. This picture, and the huge self portait of my great uncle that I own, are so important to me and my veiw of myself and my family. Especially the interest and skill in art that I was always told had been passed down to me in his blood, that I was the next great artist in the family.  I could only hope to be the kind of artist and the kind of person he was.

anyone else find that infuriating scrolling ad for the 'professional' portrait photoshopping HUGELY insulting? FRECKLES are not blemishes, and blemishes are part of a person. A portrait is ment to show that person, as they are, at their best but still as they are. And so a portrait that looks like a f-ing hideous shiney plastic lie is not a portrait, it is offensive, ugly, fake, boring, and ethically bereft and it frankly makes you complicit in the destruction of reality and for that matter womens mental health. Go photoshop the  muckheap you call a mind and keep your lies out of my face. p.s my freckles said to tell you theyre 50 times hotte

Are you no longer creating art?
I just saw the video of the beautiful splint company. I know you don't know me, but I have EDS too -or at least it is suspected I do my GP doesn't believe my physical therapist and I get little help-
I was really inspired by the video and I'm really glad things worked out so well with your ring splints! I know with knee or wrist supports they can be easy to get, and you can do some exercises to get stronger in the joints, I get help from my therapist and those joints are stronger now, but with fingers they are so hard to support correctly and they're so small and fragile how do you build lots of muscle there?! So I too struggle sometimes as an artist. I can't write in my school and I get special support because of the condition, but it gets so hard sometimes. Hopefully splints will be more widely available someday and there will be more good stories like you had in the video.

Sorry this is so long >o<

Keep up the good work and stay strong :)
No worries us EDSers have to stick together! There may be a nz silver splint maker, or you could try one of the order online ones, the name of the main one escapes me but I'll try to recall and link it for you x
:) that we do :) I'd love to get some splints for my right hand so I could slab bass and play for longer without getting tired! never the less I get by, I'll definetly look around for splints, I've found Japanese website that is helpful with supports and joint care, although ring splints are still hard to find there, I found good shoulder support though!!!

[link]

This website has a dizzying amount of supports, although I cannot tell you which of them are good and not good since there are so many!

Keep strong and stay creative, your work is very impressive
Which worked for your shoulder?

A lot of musicians have eds, and dancers too my professor doc studies the links between them. Aot of eds guitar players have found splints hugely useful.

Do you instagram? I'm ursulaapplebaby x
